If my ex texted me, I honestly would either not respond, or if it’s really heartfelt (which I highly, highly doubt) then I would wait like a week before I respond. Our breakup wasn’t so pretty….so this doesn’t really pertain to your question.
If it was a nice breakup, I would respond to the message cordially. I would not try to get back with an ex through a text message, that’s just very unfeeling to me. If you want to get back with him, then text him saying that you would like to meet up if that is okay. Allow him to agree to it, and then sit down with him at the table and talk about things. Tell him how you feel about him, and that you would like to try again. Don’t expect for him to say yes, though. Just tell him how you feel.
